First Test of Head Apparatus for Portrait Project

Several years in concept - I finally started work on a collection of head pieces for my portrait project.
They are reversible; neutrals on one side, black pallet on the other.

For this first trial run I began with a variety of library embellishments in keeping with the #11 persona from Organon 9 Worlds.

Creating a headpiece that combines Victoreana, Geisha, and Italian folk costume.

And an outfit I cobbled together in 20 minutes...

This is wonderful and quizzical. Your work is a great mystery. I used to keep ABC ads for inspiration and collage. Since the article in WWC, I had been trying to find a blog or something online with no luck until today.

I have a very strong hunter-gatherer personality which boggles a few minds. We have in Portland several Goodwill outlets we call the bins. I have never been so delighted to find a fragment of an ornate frame or an aged hankie or an undefinable piece of metal anywhere else.

Your book was well ahead of it's time, now there are others but they lack the insight you have. I love to find ancient bits of the past and tune into their vibration.

Thank you so very much for sharing.

thank you so much Mary!
i greatly appreciate your feedback.

i have a profound appreciation for thrift stores and feel i owe a good deal to the kind of freedom and creativity that was cultivated sifting through those racks for so many years. an ideal place to develop the ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. a skill that has proved to be an invaluable tool.

keep tuning in to those ancient bits! .R.

Truly delightful! I love how you combined so many elements into a cohesive whole, and managed to cover centuries of art history in the process!
